PANDORA BOXX is a series of special challenge in maimai FiNALE, and is not enabled in Offline mode.

BPM Test

There is a BPM Test Song thats left in /data/sound/BPMTest.xwb which of course...Tests the BPM

It has existed in the game since the first version, and each version exists, internally named BPM test.

In 1.00.04, if you force all songs to be enabled through debugging code, the BPM test will be displayed in the track list, sharing the same cover and BGA as the song Love Circulation.

As part of the April Fools events of 2015, BPM test renamed as 全世界共通リズム感テスト was playable from April 1st to April 7th in maimai ORANGE PLUS.

As part of the April Fools events of 2019, since April 1st, in maimai FiNALE, 全世界共通リズム感テスト was revived as an UTAGE-only song, with the EXPERT and MASTER charts both as 宴-attribute charts.

Test Song

Called LR_Test in the game files, It was most likely added to test the speakers of the cabinet.

ALL.net 功能

离线模式

如果中国版框体使用“二更”DVD进行更新, 它能在2014年11月1日后自动进入离线模式，当天中国版服务器永久关闭。

中国版和海外版都能在测试菜单里进入离线模式。

当进入离线模式时，游戏会跳过 ALL.Net 检查, 并强制你使用游客模式. All songs will unlock with all difficulty levels, and background animations will display normally.

Curiously, this official Offline Mode was never added to the Japan version when the ALL.Net service ended - playing this version will give you server connection errors, most of the songs being locked, and no background animations.

Network indicator

Due to strict regulations in China, all net-based games legally released in China must connect to server that placed in China,this certainly apply to arcade games.

Unlike the Japan and Export version use an Earth icon to indicate the network, China version uses a 3-block signal bar to indicates the latency (implying extremely bad network environment in China).

Update

While the Japan and Export versions can update songs though ALL.net download and DVDs for updates, the China version only allows you to update from DVD. The ALL.net download feature exists, it was just never used.

Login

While the Japan and Export versions use Aime cards to save progress, the China release uses "PassCode"; when you register, the game will give you a code, which is required to login. All the hardware is there to connect an Aime reader to the Chinese version's cabinet, but it was never used.

The Export version in some countries didn't have Aime reader before Ver1.40. Instead, the Aime reader replaced by a panel, which looks similar to the Chinese version's solution but with English text.Also,there is a nine-square grid on the top of the panel,in Export and early China cabinet ,the grid filled with"Coming soon",but in China cabinet produced after June,2013 ,5 blocks filled with 5 Chinese songs' cover,and 4 blocks are "Coming soon".

This video shows Ver1.20 in a South Korean arcade, running in Offline mode without an Aime reader.

Movie Upload and maimai.NET

The Japanese and Export versions have the ability to upload a recorded video of your gameplay to Niconico. The China version lacked this ability, instead having the ability to playback your gameplay locally, and the feature was never implemented before the China servers were shut down on 2014/11/01, following the closure of Sega Jinwin, the joint-venture that handled Sega's arcade operations in the region.

maimai.NET features were also never implemented in China, meaning that some functions like player name changes, query game record, friends, video link for movie upload, etc. are all unavailable in the China version. Online rankings are available, but they look completely different from maimai.NET .

Access Code

You can use an "Osaifu-Keitai" enabled phone with the card reader to get Access Code in Ver1.00.

This appears to have been a form of Aime card integration with smartphones, which was never made available outside of Japan, or in non-Japanese versions of the game.

Exclusive Songs

The Chinese version has five exclusive songs, which are not available in any other versions of maimai.

These songs classified as "中国流行乐"(Chinese pop music) category,But most are sung by Taiwanese singers.

In game file,"中国流行乐" category has it's translation as "C-POP" for Japan and Export version,but never used.

However, Ver1.01 does have the sound files, text data and chart data for these songs. This must have been an oversight, as they were deleted in Ver1.30.
