This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
See, this is why server preservation is important.
This game's online features are no longer supported.
While this game's online features were once accessible, they are (as of April 27, 2017) no longer officially supported and online-exclusive features may be documented as now-unseen content.

The dream never ends...!!

Initial D Arcade Stage 8 Infinity is the second-last game in the original Initial D Arcade Stage lineage.

Unused Text

There are several storyline text files from Initial D Arcade Stage 7 AAX left over in the game files, in both Japanese and Chinese languages.

Unreleased China Version Leftovers

A Chinese release was planned with some initial promotion, such as the official social networking channels changing their name and logo to "头文字D Arcade Stage 8 无限". It ultimately never happened due to Sega's joint venture for arcade games in the country, Sega Jinwin, going bankrupt on February 24, 2014 - about two weeks after the game was publicly shown in Japan.

Attempting to boot the game in the China region will cause a crash due to missing files (this is consistent with previous games - Initial D Arcade Stage 7 AAX could only boot into China region on the Chinese release), but the required fonts are present and the Test Menu is almost fully translated to Simplified Chinese if both PCB and Dongle regions are set to China.

Incidentally, this is why the Chinese version of Arcade Stage 7's online servers were kept online, even ending up lasting a little longer than the other versions - the Chinese Stage 7 D.NET service was ended on July 1, 2015, three months after the other versions.
