Honkai Impact 3rd is the miHoYo game developed after Guns Girl Z and before Genshin Impact. It is, in fact, the third game in the series, and for whatever reason kept its numbering in its localized name despite prior entries not doing so.

What's Underneath

All the characters originally had detailed textured panties for any outfit where they wore a dress. This was removed in 5.2, replacing them with shorts or adding a black void under their legs, presumably due to increased CCP regulations. APHO Mei ended up unscathed only to be later censored in 5.5.

Unused item

By extracting the in-game texture, a suspected unused item in OpenWorld was discovered, with an icon using a sushi screenshot from Oboro Muramasa：The Demon Blade as a placeholder, and a placeholder icon was also discovered.

CookName_1002 三文鱼寿司

CookDesc_1002 新鲜的三文鱼切片后与醋饭一同捏制的寿司，配上土佐酱油，是难得的美味。

Note:There appears to be less food available in today's version of the game, and 1002 appears to have never been used.

Test Level

Part of the level Lua script in the game data indicates that it is used for debugging levels.

These levels may no longer exist in the current version of the game, and all data comes from the offline demo version based on version 2.4.0.

Sin Mal's Model

Sin Mal has a model for any story segments involving her. This was seemingly removed in an update, except her model is still in the game's files.

It's currently unknown why her model isn't shown during cutscenes, but it seems like miHoYo doesn't plan on fixing it anytime soon.

Note that her model has no hands and body, as she was only shown facing forward with the textbox obscuring her missing parts.

Keqing and Her Second Costume

Keqing has only been playable one time, in a crossover event with Genshin Impact. She mysteriously received a second costume in an update (possibly around January 2022, as that is when it was datamined and leaked onto the internet). The costume remains completely unused and she is still currently unplayable.

This has no relation to her second costume in Genshin Impact, which is a completely different costume.

Unused Bronya Costume

An additional costume for Bronya was planned to be added in the 5.9 Summer Event in 2022. It is not used and has never been shown in gameplay or previews.

Kalpas's Face

Kalpas's face has never been officially revealed. Removing his mask or clipping the camera inside his face will reveal that he has green eyes and eyebags. The texture is rough and likely a placeholder as it was never meant to be seen by the player.

His chibi model from the 6.0 Summer Event does not have a unique face, instead reusing Kiana's eye textures.

Unobtainable Achievements

The game had a couple of free visual novels. In the Chinese version, you could link your account with the novels and complete them to obtain achievements.

For whatever reason, not only have these novels not been translated, but the related achievements are still listed in the Global version of the game despite being impossible to obtain.
