Gran Turismo 2/Revisional Differences/December 11, 1999 Build
This is a sub-page of Gran Turismo 2/Revisional Differences.
Revisional differences found in the second North American retail build of Gran Turismo 2, built three days after the original, are documented here.
This version is believed to have been first issued as a replacement for consumers who called Sony to complain about the flaws in the previous release, being available for sale until the release of the Greatest Hits version.

North America-Specific Changes
Arcade Mode

---|---|
The intro FMV received a minor update in this revision of GT2. In the original North American release, an edited version of The Cardigans' "My Favourite Game" was used, which omitted the second verse as well as the second and third choruses (the former replaced by an out-of-place first chorus) in order to fit in the intro's shorter length. In the revised FMV, the regular version of the song plays, simply fading out at the end of the video, during the second chorus. The audio is also louder.

The 2-Player Battle menu option graphic for Arcade Mode, located in arc_panels_us.tim, was modified to capitalize the word "Player."
Gameplay
- The faulty global opponent list that caused some opponents to be mismatched was updated to fix this issue. As a side effect, the Peugeot 206 ghost from Tahiti Maze no longer kisses the wall, as that error was originally caused by the use of incorrect opponent data.
- In contrast to the above fix, playback of license test IB-4's demonstration replay is affected by a change to test_s2's surface data, resulting in the replay going out of sync and an "Out of Course" failure.
GT Mode Menu Fixes
Many North American English-specific GT Mode menu pages were altered to fix art mistakes or simply adjust elements:
