A deeper look into what these menus can do.

Debug Menu

Hmmm...

Figure out what the SLV menu does.

The debug screen is preceeded by a few options that change some parts of the currently available team. The first menu has a choice between Ema[sic], Alisa, and -. Ema and Alisa options put their respective story line characters to the current team with their default wanzers. - option leaves the team empty.

The second menu, called PlayerMachine, gives a short selection of wanzers to equip to all team members. Available wanzers:

  • Shunwang 1
  • Prov PAW2
  • Wude 3
  • Getty
  • Qibing 0
  • -

The third menu, SLV, has an option for Not and Set.

The fourth and final menu has three choices for how well the team is equipped:

  • Perfect: gives the team all possible equipment at max level and 7777777 units of money.
  • Middium: gives 7777777 units of money and unlocks all equipment, but does not level any of them up.

Visiting this menu enables debug mode that, for example, opens a new Battle debug menu at the start of each new fight. There are further debug menus accessible via the Stage option by selecting either 303:C998 or 304:C999. These options will take you to DEB2 and Debug top ver3.0, respectively.

DEB2

Accessible via Stage 304:C999 from the Debug menu. This menu has a bit nicer-looking stage select options that has both Alisa and Emma branches categorized.

Test stage MX09

FrontMission3 test stage hill.png

Accessible via Stage 234:MX09 from the Debug menu. This stage contains 2D and 3D representations of various massive wanzers. The 3D versions are used in cutscenes during gameplay. There is also a height scale for probably testing walking up hills and testing combat calculations on uneven terrain. This map is unfortunately unplayable as trying to start any combat here results in a softlock.
