Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location is the fifth (main) game in the series. Taking place in the aforementioned 'sister location', you must go around the facility - almost like freeroaming - and make sure the animatronics are in tip-top shape, ready to perform again and again! Sounds easy, right?
...Right?

Unused Graphics
Frame 1: Title Screen
Gold Star
An unused yellow variant of the purple star that shows when you finish the game, or complete other modes. This graphic is only in the first purple star (star 1) and not the other one.
Version v1.0
An image of a version number, v1.0. The first version of Sister Location released publicly was v1.01, making this unused.
Frame 5: Main Hub
Ballora Controlled Shock
There's an unused image of Ballora being shocked and lit up at the same time, which isn't shown in-game.
Red Arrow
Titled Active 2, it's a red arrow pointing backwards. It could have been the original way to go back, instead of pressing S. This unused graphic is present in all areas where the cursor is displayed.
Position Map
Normal | Vent Highlight |
---|---|
This is an unused position map, named map appropriately. It would have been overlayed while in the vents, the main hub, and Baby's room.
The layout of the map in this image is also slightly different from how it is in the final game, with the image showing 2 rooms connected to Funtime Auditorium and 2 rooms connected to Ballora Gallery, as opposed to the final game where there are 3 rooms connected to Funtime Auditorium and 1 room connected to Ballora Gallery
Placement Reference
This smiley face is used in the "Real Ending" cutscene, but it's not visible. It was most likely used as a placement reference, as its eyes are located where player's eyes are.
Interestingly, the mouth of the smiley are shown in two different locations, implying that Michael's mouth would have also moved in the cutscene.
Frame 15: Game Over
Baby Game-Over Screen
A rather small red-tinted image of Circus Baby. It's part of an early game-over screen. The object name Active indicates it's the first one inserted before the other objects.
Frame 24: TV Show
Minireena
This is used in as an Easter egg in the player's home, but the lower half is not visible as it's covered by popcorn.
Unused Sound Effects
In the files of the game, two unused voice clips, meant to play in the Circus Control Room, can be found.
A female voice saying "Glass pressure trigger - Please do not push against the glass"
The same female voice saying "Motion trigger - Technician Control"
These sounds were meant to play randomly every two seconds, with the first one having a 1 in 10 chance of it being triggered, and the second having a 1 in 5 chance. The first sound effect with the lights on is meant to play when Baby tells her story, but you have to leave during it. However, you can’t exit until she’s done talking, making it impossible to trigger. The second sound effect with the lights off is meant to play when not only the power is out, but at the script in which HandUnit first introduces you to the Circus Gallery, which is impossible to occur in the final game.
Blue Screen
Found in Ballora Gallery is a strange screen that can be accessed by following a specific set of instructions shown in the video above. It appears to be a blue screen with several counters in a sort of table. In the game's MFA (project file), the name of this screen is just "Frame." The frame also contains an unused "Date & Time" object. The method of accessing this screen is so obscure, over 4 years passed between the game's release and the screen's discovery.
The numbers on the screen are randomly generated. Every 10 seconds, there's a 1/100 chance that the random number generation will stop, and the counter immediately below the table of numbers (the one ending with 1111) will be changed to a date. The month and day of the date are randomly generated, but the year is actually taken from your computer's date, and then a random number from 1 to 10 is added to it, creating the effect of a near-future date. Finally, the three stray counters in the corners, called "result" internally, will have random numbers generated for them too. Once this is complete, the game is essentially frozen. There's no way to leave the screen at any point, so you have to restart. Interestingly, the sound of Circus Baby saying 1, 5, 7 and 8 in a random sequence at a low volume persists on this screen, and is the only normal game process not halted when it's triggered.
The meaning of this very odd screen, if there is one, is completely opaque and has attracted fan speculation on its significance or lack thereof. It's an intentional addition to the game (as opposed to a built-in Clickteam function or debugging screen), but nothing else is known besides that.
Revisional Differences
v1.02
The v1.02 patch of the game, released on October 8, 2016, fixes a few issues with the game.
- A few people got stuck under the desk due to the associated cutscene not playing. The glitch itself appeared to be hardware specific.
- Night 4 had its difficulty toned down by making the side-climbing Minireenas fall off with fewer shakes.
v1.021
Released on October 9th, 2016, v1.021 fixed a rare oversight in the game (which was later hidden in its changelog due to spoiling a part of Night 5). It was possible to obtain the third star in the Private Room if the time changed to 6 AM while Ennard was jumpscaring the player.
v1.1
Released on December 1st, v1.1 added Custom Night into the game, obtainable by completing the Private Room. It also added new cutscenes, unlockable after beating any of the challenges on Very Hard mode.
Another patch, v1.11, was released the next day, which unlocked the Golden Freddy mode.
v1.12
Released on December 3rd, v1.12 gave players more power when playing through the Golden Freddy mode, and added a new, different cutscene when it is beaten.
