Fire Emblem Fates/Corrin-less Behaviour

This is a sub-page of Fire Emblem Fates.

This cactus is UNDER CONSTRUCTION
This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Careful, you'll lose an eye.
This page or section needs more images.
There's a whole lotta words here, but not enough pictures. Please fix this.
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Further investigation is needed.
  • Get higher resolutions of everything, and without the texture glitches from the original video.

Interestingly, the game has failsafes if no main Corrin is assigned to the save file (which can be done by turning the main Corrin into a recruited unit with a save editor). Some of this otherwise-unseen behavior can be seen here (note that the graphical glitches are due to emulation inaccuracies, not Corrin's absence).

The Entity

Portrait and text box.

The Entity is the in-dialogue replacement for the main Corrin when he is nonexistent. It uses the Hooded Sumeragi portrait and the dialogue box indicates his name as "???" (the same as Hooded Sumeragi's in-game name), but when he is mentioned in dialogue by another character, it's referred to as Corrin. It has no map chibi, so in My Castle you just basically control the void. When using the third-person view mode, the Entity has no 3D model and is unable to move, while being put in a very strange camera angle regardless of the position of the character in the castle, revealing otherwise unseeable textures of the outside of the castle.

Default Corrin Model

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Get a higher-resolution clean screenshot of the model.
  • Check if the model is different if the initial avatar was a female Corrin.

In the 3D pre-chapter story cinematics, Corrin's model has a default appearance. It has a unseen (?) before haircut with the default hair color for Corrin (not the internal default hair color, but the one that's already selected in the avatar creation menu) but most importantly has eyes that aren't red (possibly blue or black). Corrin's eye color is always red and cannot be changed through normal gameplay.

Private Quarters Oddities

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Complete this section.
  • Note to myself: refrain from using the word "forhed".

Misc.

  • In the support section, the Entity is accessible, here with an empty name slot.
  • If Kana lands a critical hit, the cut-in gets noticeably messed up. This is because the game generates the RGB value for Kana's hair based off of Corrin's hair color. Without a Corrin to pull the hair color from, Kana's portrait gets messed-up.
