Hmmm...
To do:
  • Where were the other tracks sourced from?
  • Some of these could use a bit of rewrite.
  • Add these images.

Early OST

Title Early Final Description
Discovery - Title Screen
This theme has multiple differences from the final release, including less reverb on the lead synthesizer, audio being all-around more compressed than the final version, and less sound effects are present.
Comfort Zone - Main Menu
Same as with the Title Screen: less reverb, more compression, and less sound effects.
Green Hill Zone Act 1
Same as with the previous two, see an occurring theme?
Lights, Camera, Action! - Studiopolis Zone Act 1
Same as with the other tracks. The song fades out at the end, whereas the final version ends with a sting.
Flying Battery Zone Act 1
Missing instruments from the final. Also, the intro from the Sonic & Knuckles version of Act 2's theme is played at the start.
Tabloid Jargon - Press Garden Zone Act 1[1]
Was completely redone in final. It gives more of a traditional Japanese feel compared to the final's industrial sound. Interestingly, Tee states that this was originally named "Pulp Friction Zone", predating Pulp Solstice.
Rogues Gallery - Mirage Saloon Zone Act 2
Same as with the Title Screen, Stage Select, Green Hill & Studiopoils.
Stage Clear[2]
A unique composition that leitmotifs the title screen theme. The final game instead remixes the stage clear theme from Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
Credits[3]
Was completely redone in final. The final is more energetic compared to the early version's more "relaxed" feel.
