This page details bugs of Five Nights at Freddy's (Windows).

Glitched Foxy Game Over Sequence

Occasionally, while the camera is not open, the game audio will mute itself, and a few seconds later Foxy's jump-scare sequence will play (without it being triggered from the security monitor) and a game over will occur. Unlike when Foxy's jump-scare sequenced is normally triggered, it is possible to look around during the jump-scare, while normally the game camera is locked to Foxy. The audio returns when the static appears. It is unknown if this was patched in an update or not.

Night 8

If you complete the game with all three stars, moving your mouse especially quickly on the title screen will sometimes cause the Night counter on the "Continue" option to show a nonexistent Night 8. If clicked fast enough, it's possible to actually load the stage. It shows the "what night" screen for Night 1.

Surprisingly, this night does not seem to be that unusual or buggy. All of the animatronics have their AI levels set to the default activity counter values (Freddy at 0, Bonnie and Chica at 10, and Foxy at 3). Completing this night will send the player to the 6AM screen, which then soft-locks the game.

This glitch appears to have been removed from the game as of the most recent version.

Freddy's AI Level Oversight

Freddy is programmed so that the game will roll a random number every few seconds to determine if Freddy can move. When this roll is successful, the game begins a countdown based on Freddy's AI level and then moves him to another room. In the first six nights, Freddy's AI never goes beyond 4; however, if his AI value is set to above 9 in Custom Night, then every number the computer generates moves him to another room and resets the counter to 0. This means that unless the camera is focused on Freddy, he will move every few seconds, making him extremely difficult to handle.

Golden Freddy Chance

Golden Freddy is meant to appear at a 1 in 100,000 chance by checking if an RNG value from 1 to 100,000 is 1, however the engine's RNG function is 16 bit, so this means that the true chance is 1 in 32,768.[1]
