Audio
When doing his victory pose, the hero will shout "Yatta" in the Japanese version. This was changed to a manly "Yeah" in the international releases. The two voice lines are also featured in the game's sequel (Soukoban 2 and Boxxle 2).

Bugfixes
There are minor graphical glitches in the Japanese version that happen when moving a box or with the room number and step counter that flicker. These issues have been fixed in the international versions.
Credits
The credits feature a sequence of screens that scroll from top to bottom. The Japanese version has one more screen to credit a voice actress, Chisa Yokoyama, and the international credits go by slower to compensate.
Additionally, the Japanese version credits Takayuki Nogami as the graphic artist, while the US version replaces his name with Chikashi Horikawa (C. Horikawa).
