Debug Menu

Bass hackwards.

Holding the A button on Controller 2 while selecting "Cast" from the Boating screen will bring up a pretty thorough debug menu. Most of the game's variables can be manipulated here, and there's even a sound test with volume options!

Press B on Controller 1 to exit the menu.

Dialogue Test

Bet you can't say that image name three times fast!

Holding the A button on Controller 2 and selecting "Info" will initiate a dialogue test. This will go through all of the game's dialogue.

This debug feature is only present in the North American release, and was most likely added to test that the translated text was working correctly.

Other Debug Commands

These are all entered by the second controller.

(Casting screen)

  • Up: Catch a 22-pound bass.
  • B: Catch a random bass.
  • Y: Catch a random non-bass fish.

(Boating screen)

  • X: Speeds up time (1 minute passes each frame).

Old Debug Menu

Ye Olde Menue.

An older debug menu can be accessed by entering the Game Genie codes ACC4-DFB4 + 80C4-DF24 and using the above debug menu method.

Unfortunately, this menu is completely nonfunctional. Selecting any of the options exits out of the menu.
