Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered is an official remaster of the original game, made during the development of V0.3.8 of Baldi's Basics Plus, using that game's basic framework. The game features three different modes; two faithfully recreating the original game and its "Birthday Bash" edition, and one that serves as a demo for Baldi's Basics Plus.

...This game also retconned everything Baldi-related that was made before Plus 1.0.

Hmmm...
To do:
Find any more leftovers from Baldi's Basics Plus.

Baldi's Basics Plus Leftovers

Mrs. Pomp

Mrs. Pomp's sprites and voicelines are left over in Classic Remastered, as she was once meant to appear in Demo Style, but was promptly canned because A) there wasn't a map to easily tell where she was, even though her "Check your map." line is still in the files, and B) the Classic Schoolhouse was way too tiny for a character like her. (Un)surprisingly, her AI is still functional, and as such, if you spawn her with a mod menu, such as Fasguy's, she will work flawlessly... With the caveat that it makes it even more obvious as to why she didn't get into Demo Style. It's unsurprising that she's functional, but it's obvious as to why she was cut.

Kickstarter Backer Posters

The $500 Kickstarter Backer Posters are still in the files, more than likely because Mystman12 didn't bother removing the assets. Only one of them will be shown as you get the point.

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T LEAVE LEFTOVERS

The Test

The Test, unlike Mrs. Pomp, is not functional in the slightest in Classic Remastered, though his assets are still in the files. Only his head is used in the Glitched Schoolhouse in Party Style.

oh no

Miscellaneous

The blue locker's "inside" texture is in the files, despite the fact Classic Remastered doesn't have blue lockers.

BBCR InsideLocker.png

Unsurprisingly, the Elevator assets from Plus are still in the game, despite the fact that Classic Remastered uses the exits from the original game. The gate textures that accompanied these in Plus are technically used, but are out of bounds.

I miss the old elevator sounds.

Placeholders

Hidden Graphics

On the sprite that's used for the Fun Settings clipboard, there is poorly drawn text off-screen saying "Howdy!".

Debug Feature

There appears to be a small debug feature that was left in by mistake; pressing P at the beginning of the game causes Baldi's animation and dialogue to repeat. This will stop working once Baldi becomes aggressive.

Hidden Rooms

Both of the below rooms only appear in Demo Style.

NonCanonConnor

The "NonCanonConnor" room is a mostly empty room filled with NonCanonConnor textures with a sphere in the middle of the room that has the NonCanonConnor texture on it. It can be found when placing a Portal Poster item in the hallway with the BSODA machine that is also near the faculty room and detention room. The portal must be placed next to the BSODA machine.

It's definitely Not Canon alright.

Bladder's Room

Bladder's Room is a small room containing a secret joke character named Bladder, who was made to mock the various Baldi bootlegs, as well as having two chalkboards written in lowercase. The room is located between the large faculty room that normally has the Principal's Keys and the classroom with the "EVERYONE GETS DETENTION!!! I QUIT" chalkboard.

I am inside your walls.

YCTP Codes

As with the original game, you can enter secret codes into the You Can Think Pad to gain access to special modes, though on that note, the codes from the original game were not carried over and do not work in this version. The table below contains all codes as of 2022-10-24.

Code Description
04281989 Teleports you to the Music Room. You can speed up, speed down, and change the pitch of the music.
10181996 Enables "Authentic Mode", which makes the game look similar to Sonic's Schoolhouse. You have to awkwardly use your mouse to start/stop running with a lever above the Staminometer, as well as clicking on the item slots to use an item, as well as interacting with objects like doors and Notebooks. You also have to use your keyboard to look left and right.
11211994 Enables "Chaos Mode", which duplicates NPCs and Random Events (which stack) with each notebook you collect. Duplicated NPCs spawn exactly where the original NPC spawned.
09241993 Enables "Debug Mode". Any subsequent games you start will be in Debug Mode until you either restart the game or enter the code again. This only works if you have unlocked NULL Style and found the secret endings from all three main styles - attempting to do so without NULL Style unlocked will result in the message "Find all the secrets first!" being displayed without activating Debug Mode. Prior to version 1.1, you could use this code right from the get go.

Unused Sounds

Mrs. Pomp

Various audio files from Mrs. Pomp, which are leftover from Baldi's Basics Plus.

"You there!"

"Just reminding you to be at my class in"

"2"

"minutes!"

"Check your map to see where my class is."

"1"

"0"

"minutes left!"

"Time's up..."

"WHYYYYYYY WEREN'T YOU AT MY CLAAAAAAASSS?!?!?!"

"Class dismissed!"

Unused Caption Dialogue

Some funny dialogue seemingly just meant to dissuade players from digging around the captions file.

{"key":"End", "value":"Woah, this is the end of the .json file!"}]}

These captions refer to older and scrapped features in Baldi's Basics Classic, pre-1.3 specifically. These might've been planned to have been re-used for the "Hard Mode" fun setting.

Unused generic VFX captions. These could have been used for testing captions.
