Hmmm...
To do:
This article was made with the Nintendo Switch version in mind. If someone could ensure that these files are the same in other versions, that'd be great.

Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore is an open-world platforming adventure, acting as a spiritual successor to "a pair of infamous fantasy adventure titles", which features some of the Animation Magic staff and voice cast that helped craft those aforementioned games back in the day. Grab your smart sword, lamp oil, rope, and bombs, and get ready for an epic quest... of finding unused content!

Unused Sprites

spr_candle_wall_4 and spr_candle_wall_5

Arzette CandleWall 4 Sprite.gif Arzette CandleWall 5 Sprite.gif

Two unused Sacred Candle barriers that would have required four and five candles, respectively. The Sacred Candle barriers encountered in-game max out at three candles.

Of note is that an equally-unused object, obj_candle_barrier_daimur, uses spr_candle_wall_5 as its sprite. Daimur's Lair does not require any Sacred Candles in the final game.

spr_flying_enemy_nest

Spr flying enemy nest.png

A rough drawing of a beehive. The file name implies that this may have been a placeholder for the tree trunk that Culicidai spawn from.

spr_npc_laml

Arzette Laml Sprite.gif

A regal character, wearing a purple dress and holding a fan. Based on the file’s name, this character is most likely named Laml.

When this sprite was brought up in the Seedy Eye Software Discord Server, Dopply, creator of the company behind the game and its Discord server, stated that he will "have more details to share about the unused content at a later date", implying that this may serve a purpose, either in-game or in a separate project, sometime in the future.

spr_npc_unata

Spr npc unata.png

A sprite of a bearded fisherman. No one is named Unata in the final game, so this was most likely a character that was cut early. Due to similar professions in fishing, this may have been a primitive rendition of Francine.

boanjale_texture_filler

Boanjale texture filler.png

A sketch of the background of the final room in Boanjale Crypts.

Unused Blocks

spr_enemy_spawner

Spr enemy spawner.png

A placeholder graphic, probably used for marking enemy spawn locations.

spr_flying_enemy_spawner

Spr flying enemy spawner.png

A placeholder graphic, probably used for, you guessed it, marking flying enemy spawn locations.

Unused Items

spr_inv_battery_cnt

Spr inv battery cnt.png

A small sprite of a blue battery, with a large cyan "B" on its front. It is possible that this could be an early Power Stone graphic, since both are used to charge up tools and weapons.

Revisional Differences

v1.1.0

Initially released on February 21st, 2024.

Gameplay Changes:
