In the game's files, there are player stats for Specter and Dark Specter, implying they were meant to be unlockable similar to Jake and Dark Jake.
Something to note with their stats: Specter has the lowest base boat speed, at 5, compared to the average of 7.23 while Dark Specter has the fastest base boat speed, at 30.

Default name of an unused character
Unused characters can be selected and data can be created, but characters are not displayed on the preparation screen and soft-locked when moving to the battle screen.
Unused Timer
The above image shows an unused timer, which is normally hidden from view.
It appears to have been hidden as development progressed, as we can see it displayed in past versions of the video.

Leftover MIDI Audio
On the game's disc, under \RAW\SOUND\MIDI\, there are six leftover MIDI files (accompanied by samples) that are unused in the final game. The final game uses compressed audio in .INT format.
