Abmis the Lion is a shareware puzzle platformer for DOS. Abmis collects potatoes, and finds items to help get to the next screen.

Unused Areas

This game has one unused area in its files. This is area index 0, referring to map data stored across SCREENS.DAT, MOVOBS.DAT, and other files. The file VARBLOCK.DAT contains a list of screens in order starting at $0D2. By replacing the first entry (3) with 0, we can access this unused screen.

This level does not have any interesting puzzle, unlike most of the other levels. It may have been a test area that was eventually abandoned. It also has several unseen items:

  • A red spiked ball that gives energy.
  • A water geyser that hurts Abmis.
  • A bomb that hurts Abmis, but does not explode.
  • A bow and arrow with 25 ammo.
