Myth Makers: Super Kart GP is a basic kart racer with only 5 tracks, tons of padding and very broken physics. It also constantly plugs the never finished series' website on some of the loading screens.

Italian PS2 Uncompressed Songs

Inside the STREAMS folder in the Italian PS2 release are uncompressed music files in WAV format at 48hz. Despite sharing the same filenames as the proper MSV files used by the game, TITLE.WAV and TRACK1.WAV aren't actually present in the game and are instead from other Data Design Interactive games, such as Ninjabread Man.

Inside this folder there's another folder named MUSIC which only contains one song, MUSIC.WAV, which is a very muffled recording of a cartoony, Yakety Sax-esque song, likely a test track. This last song is in 44hz, rather than 48hz, like the rest of the uncompressed tracks.

Filename Audio
CUP.WAV
MUSIC.WAV
TITLE.WAV
TRACK1.WAV
TRACK2.WAV
TRACK3.WAV

Wii SDK Leftovers

The Sound folder in the Wii version has two leftover MIDI files from the Wii's SDK and a Yoshi voice clip.

Filename Audio
2nd_time.mid
autumnal.mid
sound_data.brsar

Regional Differences

The PS2 version got a revision with added features and minor changes that was only released in Italy.

Main Menu

English Italian
MMSKGP MenuEN.png MMSKGP MenuIT.png
  • The text in the main options has a darker color and smaller size in the Italian version. Some of the letters are also slightly more spaced out.
  • The Load & Save option was renamed to Save / Load and got its Memory Card icon replaced by a more generic but fitting clipboard and pencil icon.
  • The MOVE prompt uses a D-Pad icon in the Italian version, instead of the analogue stick.

Training Mode

A new option, named Training was added to the Italian release, which is accesible through the difficulty menu shown after selecting Play Game.

In this mode there are 5 new and very simple tracks designed to teach you each of the game's mechanics, such as the items and special abilities. There's only one CPU opponent and it (and your character) are chosen at random by the game, as you cannot select your character in this mode. Brand new loading screens were created exclusively for this mode.

Misc. Differences

  • Any mention of Phoenix Games was removed from the Italian version, both from the opening logos (although the FMV is still present in the game's files) and the credits. Presumably they were not responsible for this release, hence their complete removal.
  • The Italian version runs on the PS2's dithered mode, which is not the case with the original.

  • The standard text was recolored white and made slightly smaller in the Italian release. The button icons were also made smaller.
