So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Finish the page.
  • Uncover more of the unused cosmetics in the game.

Left 4 Dead: Survivors is an all-but-obscure arcade game that's a popular Co-op FPS ported to an Arcade cabinet. The game is quite similar to original Left 4 Dead 2 with a new cast, new game modes, and a new Customization system for the survivors.

Unused Models

Due to the Nesica.net server shut down for this game on July 26, 2017, all the models intended for that feature are now unused after the game's discontinuation, such as the ZG currency bags, the unlockable weapons, and the Special Infected variations. The latter two can be re-enabled by editing the files however.

Left 4 Dead 2 Leftovers

Leftover Graphics

Despite this Arcade port replacing the original eight Survivors from Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 with four all-new characters exclusive to this port, graphics for the original games' Survivors can still be found in the game. For example, pressing the TAB key to check the status of the campaign shows the original graphics since the Arcade game does not use that functionality, meaning these images were left unchanged. Playing it on PC grants access to more functionality as you have access to a full keyboard.

Leftover Videos

While the Main Menu is given a unique background screen for selecting the modes for this Arcade port, there are leftover main menu backgrounds from the original game as well.

Unused Cosmetics

One of the new features coded into this game is a cosmetic system. Unlike in L4D2 and L4D, the survivors models are modular. The Head, chest, and legs are separate models. This allows the survivors to have different hats, pants, shirts, etc. This is tied to the Nesica event system where you could earn these cosmetics. A debug cosmetic mode exists in the leaked build that allows you to equip these cosmetics as well as browse them.

Event Content

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Document this content.

The game has a lot of event specific content. This includes unique special infected variant, special weapon variants, and more. Most of these features can be re-enabled in the leaked build.

Unused Sounds

Translation: It's a bread knife!

Much like in L4D2, Blake Jordan (Ellis' replacement) has a translated line for picking up a Combat Knife. Since Counter-Strike weapons were impossible to spawn in the normal gameplay, this goes unused. However, if you try to import Blake's sound assets into Ellis' sound files in the current update (The Last Stand Update) of Left 4 Dead 2, this line goes "used" where the update restores the previously German-exclusive Counter-Strike weapons into the game internationally. Somewhat amusingly, it seems as if Ellis' line "Grabbing a bread slicer!" was translated literally, as Blake refers to the weapon specifically as a bread knife (パン切り, pankiri).
