Uchuu Senkan Gomora |
---|
Also known as: Space Battle Ship Gommorah (JP title; English), Bio-Ship Paladin (US title) This game has unused graphics. |
Uchuu Senkan Gomora is the Japanese name of Bio-Ship Paladin, an arcade shoot-'em-up by UPL. While ported to the Genesis, it was never released outside Japan.
Debug Menu
On bootup, the game checks the word at $020000, which is $0000. If you change this to a non-zero value by using Pro Action Replay (PAR) code $020000:0001 or Game Genie code AEAA-EAAA, a debug mode will be enabled (memory address $FFFDD0 gets set to $8000).
Now, start the game and hold C as you press Start to pause. The debug menu will appear.
Settings
- JUDGE - Invincibility when turned off.
- ENDING - View ending.
- GENESIS - Region setting?
- STAGE - Stage select.
- AUTO - Automatically targets and fires upon enemies.
- BIT - Unknown, possibly unused.
- HOT START - Reset game.
US Title Screen
If you set the system region to USA on boot, you get what is clearly a US title screen for a possible release that never happened (if it even was planned).
A Possible Theory: At the time, Treco (a Sammy imprint) had the rights to UPL's properties as UPL had gone bankrupt. For whatever reason, Treco didn't publish this game; if this was considered for publication, it was most likely passed up in favor of Task Force Harrier EX, another shoot-'em-up released around the same time and developed by UPL. The Treco logo, if it exists in the ROM, has not yet been found.
