Prices and Stuff

Per various articles, playing a given game after using its one free trial cost 40 Microsoft Points, or US$0.50. To own a game (unlimited free plays), it cost between 240-400 Microsoft Points (US$3.00-$5.00), with discounts for bundle packs.

I mention this since, looking at the list of games offered, some of them fall into the "Really? You expected people to spend money for this?" category. "Yes, please give us multiple bucks to buy 3D Tic-Tac-Toe or A Game of Concentration." Don't get me wrong, those kinds of games can be fun and are fine as part of a compilation, but they don't really have much to offer when presented individually in the modern day like Game Room did.

...Which is why Game Pack 13 including Venetian Blinds was so insulting. They could've played it up as a silly little free bonus, but no - articles make it clear that they slapped pricetags on it as well, despite the fact that 1) you can see all it has to offer in 5-10 seconds and 2) it's not even a game, it's just using the joystick to move venetian blinds up and down (which, as David Crane among others has noted, is the joke). Add the fact that this bullcrappery came right on the heels of Game Pack 12 having promoted the inclusion of Sunset Riders before dummying it out prior to release, and is it any wonder Game Room and Microsoft's future plans for it ("1,000 games in the first three years!") were scrapped?
