Rad Racer II
Rad Racer II |
---|
Developer: Square This game has unused graphics. |
It's Rad Racer... again. Notably, this game was only released in America, unlike its prequel.
Unused Graphics
In the actual game nothing is drawn on-screen when the game is paused, rendering this graphic unused.
Unused Music
Like the original Rad Racer, there are three music tracks, not including "Sing Yourself". However, unlike the original, you can only choose two of them. By forcing RAM address $03 to 0B, you can play the third track, titled "Still Alive". It bears a strong resemblance to the bluegrass song "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", written by Earl Scruggs and best known from the chase scenes in the 1967 movie Bonnie and Clyde. It was likely cut because it wouldn't have fit the game outside of the Gettysburg level.
Level Select
A level select code remains in the game. On the title screen, press B to increment the level number, and then press Up + Left + Start to start the game on the desired level.

An ad for Final Fantasy III reveals that Nasir Gabelli probably had a hand in the development of this game.
