Tim's Wallet Glitch
To do: Check if this glitch works on international versions. Also, get a shorter video. |
The Jet Turbine is required, and Tim's Wallet must not have been found yet for this glitch to happen.[1] https://www.youtube.com/live/0c5o61h2qlk?feature=shared&t=2148 The player must make their way to the north east part of the map, east from Peach Town and below where near the river ends. They must get onto the cliffs of the sea and find a specific area as seen in the video on the left. After finding it, they must jump out at the right time, where if done correctly, the item collection sound will be played. The missing wallet will be gone from it's place outside of the Peach FM radio station.
Out-of-Bounds Ski Jump Glitch
Normally, the highest score one can get is around 350m average with the best parts (Devil Parts included), but the player can go way above that amount by performing a semi-specific method. Once they cross the middle of town, they'll have to collide with the cliffs surrounding the pathway leading out of town all while using the Jet Turbine. If done successfully, the car will jump up rather than abruptly stop; this can also be done twice in the same area for greater effect.
Since the map only shows a portion of the world, the farthest the player can go is a small portion of forested area transitioning White Mountain and Mushroom Road before abruptly ending at a void area. The maximum distance the player can go is 1099m, further proved by a tool-assisted speedrun.
Snow Mountain Raceway Shortcut Exploit
To do: Get a better video that gets straight to the point. |
This glitch works in all versions of the game.
The Big Tires, Jet Turbine and a strong engine is required for this glitch to work. The player must make their way to the left side of the hill after crossing the finishing line. They are not required to climb on top, but rather drive on the higher edges. If done successfully, the player will be in first place, and can repeat the method in the other laps. It can be done in both Rank B and Rank A variants of the race crouse.
Out-of-Bounds Text Box Glitch
To do: Research this further |
This glitch only occurs in Cloud Hill and Fuji City, due to the overworld NPC cars staying in one place. The player must have the Jet Turbine, which can be obtained from Papaya Island by helping Sandro reunite with Kerori. The player can access out-of-bounds areas from their view, rivalling that of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl's infamous void glitch.
The player must ram into the car with another car beside them and if done successfully, the text box will show but the player's car will be moving far from view. Exiting the text box will stop the car from moving, or in other cases fall down if it flew through the air.
There are many other possibilities to recreate the glitch;
President's House Exploit
The player can skip to the race with the President by ramming into the Gate Man with the Jet Turbine, but they must be right in the middle of the gate in order for the player to end up into the President's house, right at the door with precise timing. Ending at the outer parts will instantly warp the player outside of the gates, or falling down. It's easier due to Cloud Hill being a separate area than the other towns.
President Forest can be raced as usual, albeit harder if they don't have any of the engine upgrades. If the player manages to beat the president, but don't have any of the upgrades, the ending will play, but it changes via region;
- In the original Japanese release, the scene of the cars outside of the building will not be seen due to locking up, though the jingle is still heard and the credits won't roll.
- In the international version, the scene is slightly fixed but it shows the outer building in a glitched state without the cars and sky, though the credits will roll.
Fake Fuji City
The player can ram into the guard by pushing a nearby car into them, except they'll now be able to move throughout the entire "overworld". Travelling to the "Fake Fuji Cities" depends on how many the player "passes by" the location that they hit the car. One of them have the location points in Sandpolis.
- That way, the player can land into the area where Otomi was trapped, where they'll be able to meet them again with an unused dialogue line.
It must not be crossed more than 26 times, otherwise the game will lock up with a blue screen and "VERFLOW" in white text on the top-left side.
